Buses serving neighborhoods north and east of campus:
The 296 route is one of our most popular routes. It serves neighborhoods along Middlefield Rd. to our north, and neighborhoods in East Palo Alto to our east and southeast.
The 81 route serves East Palo Alto and Menlo Park. There are now additional routes to accommodate our bell schedule. [Note: the

The SamTrans 86 route replaces the 286, which formerly served Portola Valley and West Menlo Park. Please note that effective 8/7/22 SamTrans discontinued all service along the Alpine Road corridor because of low ridership, and based on a recommendation from a multi-year-long transit planning study called Reimagine SamTrans. Please see below under “District Buses” for information on buses serving students in Ladera and Sharon Park/ Heights.
UPDATE:
Route 86 Westbound trip serving Menlo-Atherton High School has added a pick-up on Mondays, Tuesdays, and Fridays at 3:03 p.m. and Wednesdays at 2:30 p.m.

District Buses:
SUHSD is providing afternoon bus service for students living along the Alpine Road corridor and Sharon Park.
This bus (schedule linked here) leaves from the drop-off area near the front entrance of the Performing Arts Center (the P.A.C.) at 4:15 Mondays, Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Fridays, and at 2:25 on Thursdays. Any changes to those departure times due to variations in our bell schedule will be noted in the school calendar available on mabears.org. We will always offer an afternoon bus at 12:45 on minimum days.
*For finals week, the Ladera bus will depart from the front of the PAC at 1:00pm
All parents/students must call to submit a request for transportation 2025-2026 school year. In addition students will be required to have a student identification (ID) badge to board the school bus.
Please call (650) 306-8875 to register your child for School Bus Transportation. Please provide the following information: Student's Name, ID Number, School of Attendance, AM & PM Stop Locations, Email Address, and current Phone Number. Please call to register your child no later than August 7, 2024.

Boys & Girls Club Bus
The EPA Boys & Girls Club will offer bus rides from M-A's T-Lot to the EPA Boys & Girls Club location on Pulgas Ave. Students must be registered with the district and EPA Boys & Girls Club (click here for the form).
4:15 PM on most days, 2:15 PM on Thursdays, and 1:00 PM on Minimum Days.
