Welcome to the Menlo Atherton High School Alumni Webpage Print E-mail

The Menlo-Atherton Alumni Page has moved!  Please go to http://menloathertonalumni.ning.com/.  The new site is a social network similar to Facebook and MySpace; however, the company we are working with provides a much smaller community feel which will allow people to locate old friends easily.  In addition to connecting with old classmates, this site will help keep you informed of upcoming reunions, special events, and other activities taking place at or around M-A.  The site address is http://menloathertonalumni.ning.com.  I hope you choose to register for the new Alumni site (it's free).  Once you have registered it will only take you a few minutes to develop a profile page.  Finally, please tell any M-A alumni you are still in contact with about the site.  The more people we can connect to M-A the more successful this project will be!  I know there are some individual class sites that exist on the web that are successful and I am sure most of you know there are a number of sites that cost money (i.e. classmates.com) to help you connect with high school friends, however, with your help it would be amazing if would could connect everyone under one umbrella!  Obviously, there is absolutely no cost to register!  Below you can find detailed instructions for joining the site; however, I think you will find that it is relatively self explanatory once you visit the site.  I look forward to seeing you online and am hopeful that, together, we can make this a success!Again, thank you for your time in advance and please don't hesitate to contact me if I can answer any questions!  Chris RubinClass of 1997 This email address is being protected from spam bots, you need Javascript enabled to view it

Register for the New M-A Alumni Website Today!!!
Menlo-Atherton Alumni!  Great to see you!  We have now launched a new website.  Please visit us at http://menloathertonalumni.ning.com/.  At this new site you will be able to keep in touch with all of your closest friends, find information about upcoming reunions and special events, learn a little more about the history of M-A, read about current events on campus at Menlo-Atherton and lots more! The best part about this site is that we, as a community, can work together to make sure everyone is aware of what’s going on.  Here are some simple directions that will help you get started.
STEP 1 – Getting Registered
  • Visit http://menloathertonalumni.ning.com/
  • Once on the site, on the right side of the screen click “Sign Up”
    • Enter your email address, choose a password, enter your birthday and join!
  • You will then receive a confirmation email. Click the embedded link and you will be able to begin creating your profile.
STEP 2 – Creating your Profile
  • Enter your full name
  • Add a picture to your profile by clicking browse! This picture will be displayed on your profile page and will be the first thing people see before they click on your profile (don’t be shy J)
  • Choose your gender, country of residence and zip code
  • Click Join – congratulations!  You are a member of the OFFICIAL Menlo Atherton Alumni page!
STEP 3 – Making your Page Unique!
  • You’ll notice when you first login that you will be given some options of what you can do immediately.  Click on “Customize Your Page.”
    • First choose your theme!  There are over 100 choices.  This will be the background of your profile page.  Your profile page will eventually contain information about what you are doing these days, pictures of you, your family and friends, and groups you start.
      • Once you have chosen your theme, scroll to the bottom of the page and click “Save.”
  • You’ll see a number of tabs at the top of your screen including: Invite, My Page, Members, Photos, Videos, Events, Groups, and Blogs.
    • Click on My Page and scroll to the bottom.
      • Where you see the “Text Box” section click on “Add Text.”  Here you can title this section.  This is a great place to include a biography.  Everybody will be interested to hear about what you are up to these days?
      • Where you see “My Photos” add some photos that you would like to share of what you are up to these days!  These photos could be of you, your family, friends and even some classic photos from your high school days!
STEP 4 – Some additional Features you don’t want to miss!
    • Remember – all the features can be accessed from the top menu bar!
      • Click on the Events Tab and see all the upcoming events that are planned
        • Have an event of your own? A reunion?  Just getting together at Rossatti's or the Oasis and anyone can join, click on the “Add an Event” Tab!
          • Name your event, describe what’s going on, add a photo that relates to the group, and include all the details (dates, start/end time and location) and post it by clicking “Add Event.”
      • Click on the Groups Tab and you’ll find a group already exists for each class level.  Don’t hesitate to join your group.  Want to add a group of your own?
        • Perhaps you want to add a group for the sport you played at M-A or want to start a group for all Jazz Band participants!!  Just like above, that’s easy, just click on the “Add a Group” Tab!
          • Name your group, describe your group’s purpose, add a photo that relates to the group and post it by clicking “Add Group.”
      • Blogs are easy and can be fun!  Notice if you click on the “Blogs” tab there is already one established.  It asks you to share your favorite memory from the time you spent at M-A.  At the bottom of the page you’ll find a text box where you can respond.  When finished with your response simply click “Add Comment.” Want to create your own blog?  No problem!  That’s easy too
        • In the same location as the “Add a Group” and “Add an Event” links you can click on “Add a Blog Post.”  Simply give your Blog a title, write your question/theme and click “Publish Post” at the bottom.
There are endless options when it comes to adding content on our community website.  This site will continue to improve and expand as we encourage our fellow M-A Bear Alumni to join!  I hope that you will take the time to register with the site, create a profile and tell your friends to become a member soon! Thanks!
