Mission Statement: Menlo-Atherton is a diverse high school for a diverse group of students which fosters personal and social responsibility, develops intellectual depth and flexibility, and nurtures future success in college and the workplace.

What we want to be:

A school that is focused on teaching and learning, challenging and enabling all students to reach their intellectual potential. Staff will:

• align curriculum with the national, state and local curriculum standards;
• provide strong and appropriate academic and vocational programs;
• commit to work toward a 100% graduation rate for all students.

An institution that promotes personal and social responsibility within the M-A community (students, parents, faculty and staff), as demonstrated by consistent communication, respect and sensitivity; service to the school community; and integrity. Students will:

• develop strong communication, critical thinking, and interpersonal skills;
• develop lifelong learning skills;
• become technologically proficient.

A school that recognizes and stresses the importance of parental responsibility in the academic and social success of every student. Parents will be offered opportunities to:

• be actively involved in their child's education;
• become familiar with and knowledgeable about district graduation requirements and college entrance requirements;
• become familiar with the M-A school community to ensure that their child is taking advantage of the various academic, vocational, athletic, and support programs available to them.
